  1. how old is the pup? aslong as she didnt take any punishment id give her another go this season if the oppertunity arises expecially in them shallow earths but if not itll be next season before you know it you never said how old the pup is
  2. set your live trap and get one of your mates to come down and stun it with one of them electric pistol things that would do the job with a big enough cartridge in it if that fails drop it down a earth just as i happen to be passing
  3. id buy one anyway then save up for the new collar its allways handy to have a spare collar. with a bit of luck they may be out a bit earlier it was last september when i spoke to them they may be coming along better than the expected
  4. there hoping to have it on the market by next november they say it will be slightly dearer than the originall
  5. id be tempted to look at border terrier to fit that criteria
  6. 28 pds thats a monster of a terrier id like to see one come in at that weight that wasnt just fat, you must be bordering wheaten size at that weight
  7. if you found some land to go ratting on you would be unindated with folk willing to show you the ropes its just that permmission as you are finding is hard to come by and people ar a bit suspect of letting people on there permission they dont know its nothing personal its just that there is to much boomeranging going on thats all, if you can get hold of a smoker just go for a walk down a dyke or somewhere simular one evening with you dog and a torch and see how he gets on its a start and if nothing else hes had his walk for the day
  8. i dont think mr nuttall has ever bred large terriers i belive he used to aim for 14" 14£ terriers but over the years with tryig to keep the lines tight the size of the terrier has become smaller i may be wrong this is just part what ive heard and thought myself im sure somebody on here with more knowledge than myself will put the record staight
  9. this thread is becoming a thread on what size dog is best i dont think the lad who started it intended for it go that way i know nuttal breeds a smaller stamp of terrier but thats nothing a well chosen out cross could solve. my interests lie in what the terriers that mr nuttal is breeding at the moment like workwise, like i said i dont mind having a smaller terrier present in my kennels. dose mr nuttal still give you a money back guarentee whith his pups and dose he still honour that?
  10. no i wouldnt but i wouldnt hesatate putting a proven 10" terrier over some thing slightly bigger to try get a more balanced size i must agree 10" is a bit on the smaller size but if they work i'll kennel them
  11. he never got big enough,i kept him till he was about 20 months,he showed no interest in work so i sold him to a guy for 50 quid, for his young lad You need a decent sized dog ti dig,all this talk some lads are saying "i want a small dog for fox",how many times do yous dig fox in minute spots? Most are out of places where a decent sized dog can move,SO WHY KEEP A DOG FOR THE "ODD" occasion when hes too small for the other 95% of times. Some of themdogs are much bigger than a ferret a fox would destroy it ,even if it was hard and had the constitution to take it it hasn t got the pysical ability,2
  12. thats good to hear dont get me wrong i like the nuttall stamp. is there anyone else with sucess storys about pups direct from mr nuttal in the past few years, also like to hear about the unsusesfull ones its very rare to get a litter of 100% workers but just trying to work out the percentages of his modern gear thats all.
  13. beta puppy till six month old then alternate days with raw till 12 18 months old then raw only from then on
  14. is mr nuttall still breeding terriers out of proven stock, ive seen some good terriers out of his line had a bitch myself but they wasnt bred by him ive heard rumours that he has let the standards drop ie breeding from stock that isnt 100% proven i hope that this isnt true cause they make a good size for the fox game. is there anybody on here that has bought terriers of mr nuttall in the past few years and how did they turn out good or bad it will be nice to hear how this old line is going.
  15. thats the coat of the beddy cross im afraid set the clippers about her and see if it grows back any better it proberly wont but id try and lay of the baths they dont do the coat any good washes out all the naturall oils if she begins to smell brush some bicarbenated soder powder into the coat that will neautralize the smell
  16. im hoping something a bit bigger might come up the pipes you never know what somebody may have had as a pet only to be flushed down the pan
  17. plenty of rest then lead road work for a couple of months if worst comes to the worst itll have to come of dont worry though ive never seen it make a dramatic difference in there running. youve got all summer now to get it right so be patient.
  18. at 10 months old shes ready for some easy digs if shes showing keen and with her being dug to twice already and marking correctly your well onto having a winner in my opinion with the season now coming to a end i would try hold her back till next season. whatever you decide remeber she is still young so do your best to keep her winning.
  19. try every possibly means to keep that tail they need it for balance
  20. imo the most popular and best bull is the apbt if your thinking of breeding a litter your self get a greyhoun bitch which is proven in the field not just on hares (pre ban) but on bigger stuff also then your stud dog wants to be off the racey athelatic type not the big clumsy type often seen that would leave you with a genuine first cross. or you could buy one in as a half cross which ive heard a lot of people say you have more chance of the turning out if theres bull on both sides i personally havent noticed a major difference
  21. we tryed at work on one of the old wagons fine for twelth months apart from the smell and the smoke it was like driving a chippy range i kept a close eye on it cause i was hoping to run my defender on it but i decided not to after i realised it had to be serviced three times to its usuall one then eventually it packed in alltogether from running on this fuel we were using 70 derv 30 veg oil ill find out of the spanner man what excactlly stopped it from running but i know it was down to the fuel for the ammount you safe on fuel i think you get close to spending on the extra maintenance plus the
