    my mistake ther should off been a , inbetween. viscreene is a damp proof coarse normally used under concreate floors its normally black ocasially blue basicly it a big roll off plastic sheeting. then polerstyrine is polerstyrine the white stuff you used to rub against glass as a kid to get foxes in. you could use any kind off insulation but this way dosent hold water and lasts a good 15 year the ply wood is just to stop the dogs destroying it. (the polerstyrine also adds to sound proofing if you need to lock them in on a night.) you can get them materials from any builders yard or diy place.

    for any off you who are thinking off taking a project like this on i recomend that you keep all the pups back off your selected sex and start running them all on disregarding the ones that arnt what you require along the way. but remember at the end youve got one dog left ready to breed from its proved its self in the feild better than the rest off the litter so away you go. or do you just because that dog was the best in the litter doesnt make it 100% it may be out off an only average litter, you will be looking threw rose tinted specs, you will be becoming impatient wanting to progress to th

    take both dogs to neutral ground muzzle them both tie the bitches front legs to a gate post lift tail up let the dog have its way it wont be pleasant to witness but it works and its cheaper, easyer, and more sucsefull than one off shringe things.

    well done i think that the dogs find the stationary foxes harder to take than the ones that run sounds like the dog is on the right track. allways nice when you stumble across something unexpectingly.

    theres no such thing as inbreeding. inbreeding is a man made horor storie. ive never seen any deformatise or faults bred into pups that wasnt allready there to be put into them choose youre stock carfully and there shouldnt be any problem whichever way you breed

    i find you need a half cross not a firstcross the collie build is to heavy for the whippet build to carry on a first cross you end up with a lot off waste in the litter

    youre right you do get good ones in all the breeds but i find that you get a higher percentage off workers from patterdales than other types for example alitter of 6 russles may produce two pups that eventually make the grade where as a litter of 6 patts youd get maybe 4 that make the grade its only my opinion but that is what ive experienced in the past i have owned and dug to many different types off terrier but its allways the patts that leave an impression

    patterdale would be my personal choice just make sure its out off workers dont waste your time running any old pup on be patient and wait for a good litter it may be a long wait but itll be worth it

    not so many can honestly say theyve had a haul like that on the lamp i know i cant well done them dogs and the lads for getting out there p.s if you need some more dogs up there to help retrive you could always share the luck

    some dogs take a while for the penny to drop. has she been stockbrocken if so was it with a heavy hand or electric collar some times takes a while for them to realise they can chase other things other than stock. i allways try get the dogs running quarry before stock breaking just be selective where you run them my pup is 14 months now and i only broke her to stock yesturday
