I agree most men and women from back then were made from different stuff . My own grandfather lost his father at the age of 11 and had to leave school to go to work . To feed his younger brothers and sister , then when the ww2 started he joined up. He was about 19 by then , compare that to most 19 year olds of today!!

Cheers lads for your opinions ! To be fair lads t I dont think the fella coming to collect the pup would crib about dropping his dog in, he seem a straight enough bloke! It was just my mate who's giving him the pup thought that if we took him out on permission that weve not done much digging on , and he fired his dog in a right old dungeon . He might think we was trying to tuck him up and trying to get his dog to fail! It's new permission and we've only had one dig there last weekend, there plenty to go at there. We could have asked him on our old permission but it's very hit an miss, so I thought as he's had a bit if a journey I would go to a place where we would have more of a chance of a dig!!

A question for everyone, right a long story cut short a mate an I were having a conversation about dogs . When we got talking about a mate of his that is coming to collect a pup I said" ask him if he wants to bring a dog and we will take on some of our permission for a dig" my mate said that he didn't think it was right asking him over for a dig when we don't know the depths of the earth that we would be working!
