You get the odd runner from misplaced head shots, etc but overall I'd have a ,22 over any gun, the .17's are good don't get me wrong for the longer range rabbits, I had some cracking shots last night at some good ranges, the .22 wouldn't of been able to pull off... but them .17's are far too messy and expensive, for this style of shooting..

A battered cz american .22 with a 1lb pull spring fitted to the trigger... Was out last night on a different farm with nobby off the site and shot just over 30, was a quiet night, with little wind but good fun none the less....

Depends what you want to use the gun for, I use a nikko stirling 6x42 on my .22 rimfire and its excellent imo, cheap, brilliant eye relief, best I've used for the price so far, really handy for akward shots from a vehicle when lamping and you can't get the scope at the right distance,.. I have it attached to my battered old cz ..... End of the day theres that many options and everyones got their own opinions... But for the money, take a look on ebay or jsramsbottom at the nikko's, depending on mag you want.. -
Just woke up, off to the gamedealers now, I alternated between three brands of bullets I had in the box so had to keep rechecking the zero, was a last minute decision to head out.... Lost a lot when it came to picking up, one of those things final pickup was 140.

Stick with Honda.. Budget for a trailer also if your carting it about.. Keep an eye on Ebay..

I normally leave them till a bit later in the season..I use wheat/maize, etc as bait, majority of the area's they are present around me contain a lot of oak trees, just use some fenns or bodygrips in tunnels with acorns off the ground for bait and around the entrance if its similar were you are...

Not sure as to the pressure exerted by the average fox, but the americans use there breakaways to release the likes of deer and livestock that are caught around the foot/leg, mainy times its been openly states that kneck caught animals eg a deer the breakaway would not release, so snare location must be considered... They have many types of breakaways and have done for decades, different states have different laws regarding there use over there also... Some use breakaway cam locks, by removing the pin and replacing with a brass paper clip the type you bend back on itself like a split pin...Th
