  2. £2.50 at the gamestealers mate, was short of bunniies, but theres too many longears about to start with were I go... Foxes had a few mate, bit of a sore point... next week I'll dent them
  3. Mostly around 60yds, few closer, few further... Had an amber filter on, mainly to kill the beam down slightly... but took it off as the fog came in, red filter provides better results for skitty rabbits, gives you that bit more advantage, much better than amber... to be honest, the area is out the way and quiet, so there not lamp shy like other places..plus its keepered and they only really tend to the foxes... Other places I go there off when you scan a field with the lamp, one field holds a big number and there really lamp shy from people having a go at them... pointless.. Other options are

    permission

Normally notice rabbits out in the fields when driving around different area's, more so during the spring and summer when there more actve during the day..... Walking on footpaths, will give you a good idea too of whats about....Word of mouth is good, ask the farmers you already have permission on, were theres more local..
  11. Depression, nasty thing... I think most of the people who suffer it, need to change there life around and their habits to overcome it... Theres also the people who claim to have it but don't, millions ! ........making anyone who genuinely does suffer look like there one of them... I wouldn't wish it on anyone...

  18. I agree Ian but with possible new snare legislation looming it may well be a matter of having to and at least it is there if the worst happens. The way I see it is fence snaring is one of the most effective methods of snaring for controlling animals, a lot of land has boundry fencing and animals like the rabbit and fox will use these restrictions coming through or underneath them, open trail snares are good, but there not always ideal depending on the land and terrain these animals are using.. Will a breakaway do anything for a snare set at the correct height on an open trail fit
  19. Suppose there ok if you want to spend £3 per snare.. I'll stick to making my own for less than 1/10th of the cost, exact length I want, deer stop fitted, loaded..no need for a breakaway... If they've got deerstops on and are sited correctly why bother, with extra cack, where its not needed...
