  1. Yeh its suprising what can affect snares sight, scent, setting and knocks, there not always down to rabbits, I've seen stoats climb up fences and through snares, and other critters slipping through.. Tell you what its a nightmare getting a hedgehog out, same as in a longnet when they ball up tight, but there always released unharmed, they just sit there quietly....... Got some good sections to get at next week, I'll take some photos...
  2. Let them settle a few hours after dark, a nice dark, windy night with a little drizzle or rain is ideal conditions...
  3. Whatever floats your boat Back on subject... I agree DW, but what about open snares in woodland, tractor trails in standing crop, etc... It does help, of that I'm positive, as well as hiding from the human elements... Although you mention scent, I 100% agree thats one of the main obstacles by far.. If I put rabbit snares down, I leave them over 4 to 5 days anyway, weather, etc all play a part, snares may not be touched the first night, maybe the second, maybe third...others will catch over night...One thing about setting rabbit snares that higher up on jump throughs is they are commited,
  4. Dark browns the best, but any dark colour works well...I've seen pegandgun put fence snares out for fox, shiney new and give them a quick rub around with mud, which helps blend in them in well, next day fox to account for...Its like rabbit snares, many will say , NO you don't need to weather them, fair enough in winter when its dark when most animals are out and about rabbits/fox but during the lighter months, a blended snare helps a lot... Pegs got some excellent footage as a fine example rabbits running up to fence snares weathered and new snares and rabbits turning off them, there not that
  5. Just to say, I'm amazed how ignorant some people can be..... Yes were all being watched by aliens in outer space and the bent members of parliament, oh and 6,000,000,000,000 ANTI's.... In the words of Vikki Pollard .... Bovered !!! If you post legal posts who cares...oh and are people REALLY thick enough to think, the likes of anti's aren't viewing all the internet forums.... personally who cares one iota ???
  6. Personally I'd rather have a weathered or otherwise snare than a new... although they all still catch, prefer to put the odds in my favour...I like the formula one, gets them perfect and blends in excellent.
  7. Top fun rickardo, nice photo for your collection...
  8. What the hell does that mean ?? As I said take a photo and post on the forum, theres some good lads on here who snare thousands of rabbits every year, who are more than willing to give genuine advice...
  9. Take a photo of the snare set on the fence and post it on here... You don't want them too small or too big, just right for the size run, with adaquate clearance for the feet to pass under...
  10. Musto country overtrousers, very hard wearing..
  11. These are pretty cheap here dropper http://www.ukshootwarehouse.com/shop/PIGEON+DECOYING+EQUIPMENT/Flappers+%25252F+Cradles/Dead+Bird+Cradles.html
  12. Try resizing the image smaller, whats the file extension .jpg ?
  13. no good only one rabbit, 3 snares had been moved....there was not a rabbit in sight this morning..strange What type of snares fence or peg snares, any images of them set in place...
  14. Never forget, nothings falible, nothings 100% safe, trust no one but yourself and real life genuine friends... There's anti's on probably ALL the hunting forums on the net, some pretending to be hunters, keep it legal and sensible, you'll have no problems....
  15. Looked for your tenner, well gone by the looks of it
  16. Hes asking about shotgun gauges and ranges, in a pigeon shooting section, not rifles ?
  17. Ferreted a small hedge with wooler yesterday, just a bit of fun with the scatter guns, grounds like iron to get through...managed a few, think the dog ferret killed as many himself underground, little twat
  18. Couple more from the same spot. with wooler.
  19. Sorry mate, just the one.
  20. Same as anything pay your money for quality... I'd suggest hanwag, haix, lowa, meindl.
  21. I guess there is the answer to why some folk think the originals imported traps are a bit pricey . If a chap in Britain can knock some very good-looking copies yet has to price them at a fiver (and possibly not be making that much money once materials ,time and such-like have been factored in )is it any wonder that the US made ones are a bit more expensive.Someone has to pay their fare across the big sea and then pay import duty and then get em by magic carpet to KG who obviously want to make few bob on the deal . By the time the traps have passed through the distribution network a
  22. It was only a suggestion,... And a wise one
