  1. Put the peg through the wire loop and do this with them all and carry them through the snares...also as you say bundle them with a simple string loop
  2. Good going trevor, have a run up here sometime and we'll have a go at them before the season ends...
  3. Yes rabbit snares are legal, ensure the landowner gives you consent though.
  4. Locking snares yes, the laws differ within the UK, regards legislation.
  5. Yes there very effective.. But it's the initial cost of putting In rabbit mesh fencing.. So once you add up fencing cost and traps it's expensive for a farmer. Also wooded area's can need repairs more often due to fallen branches and tree's. There's an area next to a farm house tried ferreting yesterday.. Absolute nightmare with an old wall under it hardcore, bushes, etc favour being on my side it was stock fenced, so I decided to snare it... Starting to sicken myself lol . I can't even look at the rabbit casserole downstairs !!

  8. Had a look out tonight, as I needed to lift some snares and reset a drop trap... Stayed out and tried for a fox, used a vixen call and lamped the area, spotted some eyes after five minutes, tried bringing the fox in further with some squeaks to no avail, sat on the hedgeline, took the shot off the bonnet using a rest bag, on picking up nice sized dog fox 20lb, ranged 240yd... One less vulpine..
  9. I'd save some more pennies and go for a gen2+ or gen3 .. Much better.
  10. Try now ace and pm me results.
  11. Can anyone write properly these days ? ......... "idea" Logun your nuts
  12. Mines no problem, 14AH is basically the same as a double belt pack you normally get with the 7ah battery either side.. It should last more than an hour.. People come up with all sorts, I lamp mainly from the vehicle or quad, but when I'm on foot these are excellent, anything that makes life easier or is a benefit in some way is worth it !
  13. Well done lads and steve, I'll get that article added now mate.
  14. Are you pressing submit twice?
  15. Had a look out with sean yesterday and managed a few rabbits with the hmr... Then had a wander out tonight with a farmer to look round a new spot he wants me to keep an eye on, not much about, bad night methinks..... Anyway headed back to farm and he offered me a whisky, so I had a sharp one and left the farm, on heading home, I lamped a rape field I'd shot one the other night on, well the next field, spotted a pair of eyes, called it in to within shooting distance, it was approx 200yds and sent an grain winchester its way, I've just started using up some of these I had left, previou
  16. Moneys not tight, he's tight ginger faggot... His books are arse paper, he needs to up his game and stop writing picture books..may as well peddle colouring in ones... Giro, yes sometimes I do, but I have plenty of friends who can bring theres out, I was at a farm today and got some permission, the woman had a nice couple of bull x's... I'd prob go for a collie half cross or bedlington cross... I'm past, all the daft competive shite that goes with dogs, mines this, mines that, theres too many idiots...who are totally alienating everyone, when mine died, I decided to let them be for now, it
  17. Big nose is just off over yours... tell the ginger pleb to get his hand in his pocket the spraff, and teach the spaz how to catch a mole...
  18. Had a look out lamping last night, took the .243 and hmr, night started off well, till I hit reserve on the petrol, headed to the farm and filled the tank, as the farmer has just converted to diesel on his quad.. He mentioned wanting me to have a look out on a spot to knock the deer down, so I'll take a look with him this week..unexpected bonus. Shot a smallish dog fox, same farm I snared the big one on last week, that was laid in some short rape in the frost, just wouldn't get up, he was laid that low I couldn't get a proper visual till I was really close to him, he got an eye popper anyw
  19. Good point I've never had a jam with mine. Friends use it, or I just use it as a rough shooter and on the quad. Cycles 30, 32, mini mags and 3" mags fine.
  20. Cheap and cheerful, obviously not the best quality. But for the money .. You can't complain. Sportsmansguncentre have them on offer at the minute.
  21. Horses for courses, all depends on your needs.. I'll have mine out tonight now its the back end of the season, just to clear up them ones, that are hard to get up on..
  22. I've used mine on a few occasions when the lead acid batteries have died when using a flapper/rotary, works no problem.
  23. Yes your right john, any suggestions to make it easier to navigate. open to improvements
  24. Few moles on the farm also cleared, same as foxes just stragglers moving in..
  25. Snared a nice big dog fox yesterday, lured in using rabbit paunch, dispatched with the gun, just keeping on top of any transients moving around in the area now, I've been keeping on top of them this last year, hopefully it makes a difference..
