Ollie I know what you mean kid, if you want a gun for ferreting and a gun for night, your best off with a shotgun and a rifle, they both serve different purposes.... the hushpower .410 shotgun could be used for both, might suit you as a beginner but there pretty expensive being silenced.... -

There will only be one subject depending on the category kay, but for example if the category that we choose for the month is black and white then only black and white photo's will be allowed to enter, and they must be taken from the date the competition starts from ie.. within the month it runs....

I'll get some basic rules wrote up, and we will get a prize for the winner, probably start it 1st of march then run it for the month and vote at the end.

Once the category is chosen we will start the competition, only entries taken within the specified month of the competition will be allowed to enter. All must contain or have EXIF data.

One thing about both magazines regardless if their good or bad, they help begiinners with an interest in the sport ... same goes with the countrymans weekly, EDRD, etc we are better with them than without them thats for sure..

The forum will never be a closed/private forum ?? Been there done that, most of the people wanting it to be a closed forum wouldn't be here now if it was, people who aren't in a crowd or gathering of people, wanting to learn, etc you just isolate them from everyone else and us as a hunting community...so think about it that way... Its all very well having a forum for people you know, but things get cliquey and as stated you isolate genuine people..

David was out with foxhunter today doing a bit of shooting, so I met up with them after dinner and had a look about on some different land, we saw plenty of deer but never had a shot....stayed out later on and did a bit of lamping, didn't have the rimfire, so used the hushpower for a few bunnies, then foxhunter dropped a sly vixen as we pulled into a field off the road... a flukey shot...
