  1. If I had some ferreting planned on awkwards sets, and they needed clearing.... I'd be using whatever methods availabe to clear the warrens, machete, chainsaw, etc , then I'd get some nice strong dog ferrets in and some red bull downed for plenty of digging, mind you a lot still bolt regardless... If I want to cover an area quickly I prefer the longnet, shotgun and spade..
  2. Getting them numbers up now foxy...
  3. well thr you go not that hard to answer without spitting out dummys and name calling .. thank you at the time i wrote the post 19 guests whr looking at the thread i know we can all say feck em just seems these sort of threads attract more than thr fair share of guests - yours was the sort of sensible answer i was looking for .. Guests can't view images uploaded onto the forum, I'll sit on the fence regarding photos, if I've shot a fox/deer and its been hit hard, I'll try and show the good side of it, rather than some messy entrance/exit hole, but at times it can't be helped and then the

  6. To be honest I need to zero the rifle in, its slightly out and I hit him a little high in the chest, due to me using the winchester silvertips, its zeroed for 58gr vmax ... I'll use these up and get back on them..
  7. Had a couple of days out this last week on some rape stubble, not massive bags but enjoyable in good company... lost most in the blasted rape thats still to come down behind the hide hedge... First Day... Second Day Same Spot...
  8. Had a phone call off Butler the other night asking if I was up for some lamping, so met up and visited a couple of farms, mainly grass thats all been cut with the odd bit of barley stubble about, didn't do too bad, considering most of the lands still in crop.... Managed some bunnies and a big dog cub, I was just about to pull the trigger on one fox and he ran in from the right handside of the beam as Butler was calling, stopped him with a shout, weather conditions were ideal just the right amount of wind and rain...
  9. Some good dogs coming through, sure we could organise it, plenty of lads with good rabbiting land... Tomo get it sorted lad, just keep the messers at bay, especailly the elevenerife types..
  10. We use plastic decoys of all manners, shells, full body, fuds (fold up), various bouncers, magnets, flappers, you name it, someones made it.... we do use dead birds on the pigeon magnets, bouncers, flappers, etc and replace the plastic decoys with the real birds as you shoot them.. Its illegal over here to use live birds.. Some people also roost shoot at night as the birds come into the woods to settle down... We do not have a closed season for wood pigeons in this country allthough they are shot under a general license, based on preventing crop damage... http://www.basc.org.uk/en/shooting/gen
  11. Watch the pigeons and keep an eye on the fields there feeding on and the flightlines they use. Theres a lot on rape stubbles at the minute..best bet is on this, then set your hide and decoys up, if you haven't got one already I'd recommend a flapper to give you some movement, try here http://www.ukshootwa...16af15rancs4hl2 .. If he has more rape stubble about try putting some white plastic bags out on sticks to deter them off these and onto the fields your wanting to shoot...
  12. Sounds like your on a winner there Liam, good luck with the rabbits..
  13. Few in the bag there foxy, obviously plenty about, they need keeping in check certain areas, same with anything else...
  14. Nah bitchy me...never.. I actually bought some winchesters in when there was a shortage of eley about... Thing is when I go out for big numbers for a gamedealer, I want head shot rabbits, the winchester's don't perform in my gun, nowhere near the eley groupings... I'll get the winnies used up this next couple of weeks, just chest shooting,to start dropping the numbers...
  15. Depends what models people are interested in the most.
  16. Popped out for 2hrs other night and shot a few bunnies, wooler done the shooting, blasted rain was horizontal the whole time I was lamping, cut it short as I needed to be home early...Noticed some prime stubble with plenty of pigeon activity, so I'll pop over and get some decoys out, hopefully they'll get some more fields down round here this coming week, fit some fox shooting in...
