He was one of the youngest Fight Sergeants in the British air force and was with 617 Squadron , The Dambusters. He didn’t fly on that sortie but did on the sortie that sunk the German Battleship Tirpitz. He got a medal for that and one for getting his Lancaster home with one engine out and damaged landing gear . Now he had some REALLY good stories Cheers.

I’ve told this one before. I was working in the power house of the Saudi Air Defence Centre during the Saudi Yemen war and armed guards were stationed with us. I heard a tale that was supposed to be true where a Saudi jumped out of a high rise window and landed on a car and died, the owner of the car was held responsible! Now this is one a true story as I was involved. We lived in a block of flats and wired them all up to get videos from one lad who had a vcr, which were banned in Saudi back then. A mate of mine back in the 80s had been in the Army and they pulled a tour guarding on the US nuclear bases in Britain…..so he tells me, there is an outer perimeter and an inner sanctum on these things where they house the missiles. British guard the outer perimeter and the yanks were in charge of the inner sanctum. He said in the initial brief before rhwy got started the yank in charge said in no uncertain terms “Do not enter the inner sanctum, ever !” He said his exact words were “We like you man, but come through that door and we will shoot you dead without hesitation”

When I first went out there, I had an induction at Lockheed Aircraft, who basically ran the Saudi Airforce back then. One of the first things they told us was if we saw an RTA, DO NOT STOP TO HELP, as the last person to touch a dying man is held responsible !! A mate of mine was driving down a street and a Saudi ran into the back of him, the police said HE was responsible as if he hadn’t been in the country the Saudi couldn’t have ran into him ! A few days later a Saudi police car came shooting out of a side street, ON ITS ROOF , and t/boned his car, again he was held responsible.

I often look in the internet for the US to broadcast secret military information about how their defence systems have been degraded so that their enemy’s can gain an advantage….fair play to them, very sporting ! lol

No , the base is not lost ! When thousands of missiles are being launched some will obviously get through . I may be wrong but I thought THAAD were mobile installations. Losing one doesn’t mean the base is lost . You said the US had lost all its bases, it hasn’t, it hasn’t lost one base. The Cyprus base was struck, have we lost that base ? Of course not. Just like we haven’t lost the Bahrain base. Cheers.
