  2. Mate, the Irish lads post pics and vids daily on my WhatsApp group, everything from rabbits to sika. They must be photoshopped ! LOL ! I took two lurchers over to Ballycommon in county Offaly and had a walk out with a lad who was master of the local beagle pack and we had no problem getting the dogs a run. Cheers.

  11. There’s a section in the book “Of Dogs and Deer” about a day out a group of us had beating muntjac (and a couple of fallow) out of a wood. Fairly short hop from the block we were beating to another slim block where a few lads were positioned as ambush, one of the lads was running his little pack of mixed terrier/spaniel crosses through the wood, a few of us were blocking out the sides and about 4 lads all with very well worked dogs as ambush in the front. There was a sheep wire fence up one side which separated the field from a building site, these were lads who were bang at it with
  12. All these breeds like Wolfhounds, Deerhounds, and even Mastiffs are long gone and extinct. The things you see at shows are just look a likes.
  13. I've seen lurchers with them in the mix, fella used to have big deerhound/bull/greyhounds, big blue brindles, looked like bull cross but were big massive things close to 30 inch tts. It was these dogs that I saw that couldn't put a bend in a red stag, it was clearing dykes like a horse takes hurdles. Lol

Completely agree mate, had my kids out as soon as they could walk, fishing, hunting, foraging, motor bikes, making ripe swings, swimming in the river and sea, building dens in the woods, camp fires, catapults, air rifles... they've done and do everything I did as a kid... but... as young adults they don't have that bug I had, Fin has his fishing gear in his car, we fished on the rocks for bass on Sunday evening, but he hasn't been since...I'd of been out every evening at his age with this weather etc... it was an obsession for me (still is to be honest), I just think it's different for the maj
