its important as pack leader to show the dogs that they will never get above bottom rank in your pack and that aggression toward humans will not be tollerated 1 bit. as well as teaching and socialising the dog from a young age its important to educate the kids aswell. but my dogs have to toe th line or theyre away to fluffier climes. but its up to us as owners that if dogs are sore n maybe cant be bothered that we can read the dog and give it space and to make sure the kids do the same,

Strictly outdoors for me no reason other than cleanliness and hygiene I have 8 dogs so I'd need a 3 storey house to bed these. The argument differs with each person but me personally I think you can't trust any dog 100% so I personally wouldn't take the risk because of the things that you read in the paper if your irresponsible it leaves every chance of bad things happening that's just my opinion

So any other dog apart from a springer or lab is not safe around children after they are pups .... What a load of bollox .........

from what i remember labs are one of the breeds statistically most likely to attack a person. the lads a nugget.

Down to sheer volume of lab owners I'd say....I've yer to see a lab with a nasty streak towards people.
There's a funny one lives near us and the owner (a cockhead) let's it roam all over the place, out of all the labs I've met that ones the worst. I can't wait for the big sod to get splattered by a wagon.

all my dogs are around kids but they still live out the back if they cant obey what chances have u got indoors outdoors in a field around live stock ect they have to b mannerd or they will not b tolerated and trust is 1 ting any owner should have but no the limits with dogs that are bred for certain reason if u have them in u should still watch them around the kids even tho u trust them they are hunters and hunters do kill just my tought

IN MY HUMBLE OPINION...

Keeping a dog outside...would take serious dedication to compare with the bond of that of an indoor dog....

A dog indoors sees the owner all round the house, has a wee stroke on the head as your walking past and the odd 'good girl' or cheery comment the dog picks up on....

If your dog has a change in mood, a slight injury or a bit of an off day.... you would pick up on it straight away in the house.... as the dog walks around or doesnt want to to be made a fuss of and wants to sit itself out the way.

I know we have picked up on things straight away due to quirky little habits being missed....even saved the life of the lab due to this

For a dog to be outdoors and recieve the same level of care as that of an indoor one....you have to give up an awful lot of time to work with it....

Now im not saying there arent people who do this.... there clearly is

But on a whole i bet a lot of outdoor dogs arent getting the time they deserve....or dare i say... the care...

But didnt you know...outside dogs are 'arder'? :hmm:
