There’s already a pipeline straight across Saudi. It would make infinitely more sense to just increase the capacity of that.

Just my view, but a pipe line from the gulf through Isreal to the Mediterranean and Europe makes perfect sense !

Quicker , easier and cheaper than the alternatives.

Currently, oil from the gulf goes across Saudi to the Red Sea then onto ships and either north through the Suez Canal, with the SCA charging huge transit fees, or south through the Bab Al Mendab, a dangerous “pinch point”, round the Horn of Africa,, where ships are prey to Somali pirates and incur huge insurance premiums, then round the Cape meaning travelling far further and costing more.

We are seeng the problem with transiting the Strait of Homuz, so, in my mind, a pipeline across Isreal seems a better alternative.

So, why isn’t it done ? Well, all the Arab countries and oil producers that surround Isreal were implacable enemies of Isreal and had total trade and travel embargoes on Isreal , but now countries like Egypt and Jordan have signed peace deals with Isreal and if the Abraham Accords are signed with Saudi and other Gulf States, I can see no reason that a Gulf to Mediterranean oil pipeline across Isreal doesn’t become a reality
