jukel123 10,210 Posted Monday at 08:39 Report Share Posted Monday at 08:39 (edited) I will still be on here pontificating about politics, football and boxing. Everybody else will be dead. The site long finished. But I won't realise or care, I will continue to post into the wilderness, occasionally wondering why Wilf doesn't attack my musings any more and why my posts never receive comments. But I will not be deterred. I will continue putting the world to rights. My dedication to the truth will remain. Until a nurse Ratchet comes along, loses her temper with me for shiting my bed again and slyly turns off my life support. As I slowly slip away, my last movement will be my typing finger, slowly tapping the air. I will be writing " f**k the tories, f**k Starmer, f**k Farage". The nurses will then have a huge party celebrating my demise and I will be gone. But not for long, for I will resurface in hell, where I will amuse myself attacking the lying blackened souls of former politicians. In particular Thatcher, Blair and fat blob Boris. Can't wait. pesky1972 5,882 Posted Monday at 10:58 Report Share Posted Monday at 10:58 Maybe not in a century but certainly some sort of cataclysmic population crash caused by famine, disease, and conflict to some extent.., which will potentially contribute to the first two. It’ll likely result in major restructuring of the existing social and economic models, but the fittest will continue to survive and thrive, and the weak will suffer.., as is nature’s way. With that in mind, and the fact I’m powerless to stop any of it, and probably wouldn’t even if I could, I’ll just crack on worrying about today and leave tomorrow where it is.

pesky1972 5,882 Posted Monday at 11:39 Report Share Posted Monday at 11:39 Imagine people in 1926 trying to predict our world. Where moving pictures were a novelty, medicine was still fairly primitive by today’s standards and just prior to the great depression, where even in the developed world men and their families would starve. Try telling them that in a few generations their descendants would almost all be morbidly obese and many would die of eating too much food whilst their eyes are glued to a screen stuck in the palm of their hand which could show them any one of trillions of moving images. Where the ‘war to end wars’ had recently ended, but where we’d continue to butcher people around the globe and develop weaponry so lethal that we could destroy the entire planet hundreds of times over. Where flying machines were dangerous and unreliable, that we’d have sent rockets to the moon and off to explore the solar system, and a lot of ordinary folk would hop on and off aeroplanes more often than they would buses. Or telling a Hibs supporter, who’d last seen his team win the Scottish FA cup in 1902, that he’d need to wait another 90 years till they won it again (2016)
