Greyman 33,340
Ok so lots of you have your tickets and I,m about to apply for mine the first obstacle I see is the fact I live on a boat, now I can weld a cabinet to the sides in my engine room which is obviously all metal with a lockable door but would that suffice or would I be better registering them at my sisters house that already has a cabinet with fac and shotguns, ? can I just walk into the police station and ask to speak with the firearms licensing dude and ask my questions direct anything else you can think of I need to do to get the ball rolling would be a help and anything I shouldn’t do cheers
Chid 6,870
Unless it's changed .. for a shotgun minimum storage security was a trigger lock .. so to me if your putting a cabinet on your boat I don't see why it shouldn't be ok . Someone in your area or your local gunshop will have contact details for the local feo get a chat with them and see what they say.

.357shooter 1,428
Do not forget to tell them if you have been a bad boy in the past.If you do not list any convictions even from when you were a kid you will not get it.Certain things like depression are maybe reasons to say no .Lots of things these days will not allow you to obtain a SGC.The wait is enough to put most people off.Joining a club was a big plus for me

Stavross 19,696
Your best bet is to ring your local firearms department because in my experience with them they all have different rules, everything with mine is online now and they will want a medical report from your doctors ( more expense ) I can’t see a problem with having a cabinet on your boat as it’s your fixed address and if you move, just like if I moved house I just need to inform them, and as above, tell them everything you can remember because they already know it. When I put in for my FAC there was something I hadn’t put on my application and it looked like I was keeping something from them until the firearms lad jogged my memory, I had genuinely forgotten as it was a long time ago but it would of stopped my application if I hadn’t mentioned it

Stavross 19,696
If you go into the front desk they won’t have a clue what you’re on about, best thing to do is to ring them because it’s all they deal with, they are separate from the normal plod
