I don’t think we’re ideologically that far apart tbh. Not considering the other areas of this world. Not the man on the street. Politically however, yes we are somewhat separated right now. America is just first to react to the crazy. And imo when you’re on a war footing you can’t tolerate too much crazy (social cohesion).

Although Trump might be getting American society to a better place he is destroying American diplomatic capability imo. He thinks he’s making progress with Russia/Ukraine but who in their right mind would trust an American deal now? For the sake of clarity. I am not a communist, nor a socialist. I do support the nordic model of government which is in my opinion the most civilised form of government anywhere in the world. 

You have never formulated your preferred style of government on here as far as I know. It seems to be based on some Rodney Trotter wheeling and dealing, cash in hand, Ayrian  race model with a bit of The Larkins thrown in plus the complete rinsing of Palestinians. Man , woman and child.

I don't give money away but I do support the traditional shared catch model when commercial  fishing. Unfortunately that model is dying out and third world workers are employed on exploitative wages.

I also support the Scottish Common Good Fund model. It's very civilised. You might want to google it.

My preferred style would be a self governing nation of indigenous people with a shared culture and history, governed in the interest of that nation with respect to all its history and a clear sense of who and what it is, minimal interference in peoples life, a nation where everything is legal unless it is specifically illegal, a nation not for sale to every Tom, Dick and Harry that understand the difference between what’s of value and what can be traded.

A nation that can look after those in real need because it allows everyone else to thrive.

A nation so good that it is fiercely protective of itself because it knows how important it is in the world to people not lucky enough to live in a model like it.
