There's been a big change on here.

Ten years ago any anti royalist posts on here were angrily criticised. Now I think most people on THL have had enough of them. 

It's only a minority who support them in Scotland.

I think if there were a referendum nation wide, most people would support either abolition or a much reduced royal family given a lot less money. I know surveys in the past supported continuation of the institution. I'm pretty sure that's no longer the case.

would you be happy to see man united expelled from the football league and dissolved because they employed mason greenwood ?

To be fair, and I’m certainly no royalist, but Anne refused any titles for her kids, even though, as grandchildren of the queen, they could have been Prince and Princess.

They still benefited from being part of the royal family and enjoyed privileges that “ normal commoners” never could. 
I agree with you, if we are to have a monarchy, it should be drastically slimmed down, such as only those in direct line of accession , such as William and George should be titled and on the public payroll.

Just my opinion, and I’m sure it’s far more complicated than that
