Cars are getting bigger and bigger. Just as our tiny roads are crumbling beneath our tyres. Do people really need American style pick ups and 4 wheel drive SUVs to go to Tesco? It's total overkill.

It's getting so you're going to have to buy a silly beast of a car as protection, just in case one of the daft 'ego' cars hits you head on.

Parking  a car in designated white line spaces is becoming impossible because wannabe tough guy cars are taking up more than their allotted space.

Just for the record I drive a modest 2019 Honda civic with a filthy interior, which has been washed occasionally to remove salt in winter and has numerous scratches on the bodywork. It's only done about 60000 miles and I'll either drive it until it dies or give it to my grandson.

Cars have become much more than a means to an end. They are huge statements of status, wannabe power and toughness. They are bollox.

f**k me juke , you really are angry this morning mate.

I'm sort of with you ,  but for me , I just can't see the point of the extra expense of running a big car , if it's not needed.( but im not a car lover).

I drive a Nissan x trail.  Purely because of driving off road when I'm shooting,  and dragging stuff backwards and forwards to my woodland in Wales.

If I didn't need it , I'd be quite happy in a Citroën c1 , or a 50cc moped for work.

However, now I’m really into cheap and cheerful and cheap on juice and I’m getting 53 to the gallon out of the latest thing.
I begrudge £100 a week on diesel just to potter about day to day.
I genuinely couldn’t give two fucks about cars.

I used to place a lolly stick so that it would catch the back wheel of my bike. It made such a racket I felt important. But I grew put of it.

Lighten up, I only posted the topic for a laugh. Oh and because on narrow roads, big  look_ at _me cars are a f'n menace.

If folk are happy to buy a split new 4x4 and lose ten grand as soon as they drive away from the garage. That's up to them. But imo, they are silly Billys.

Over here the most popular stolen vehicle is a pick-up.
