Now you read what you said lol, you said your dog was never taken over 3 mins to catch even on arable, and yes I know a lot of hares will and should be caught in under 3 mins, but again your speaking like someone who hasn’t done much because your speaking like every hare is the same, when really their like dogs all different in speed stamina and ability, and you say put some whippet into your slow bloodlines I’ve gone even better and bought a  whippet grey now I’m not into proper coursing anymore and know it won’t be able to kill strong hares but I’ll admit it because I know the score and won’t kid myself like other people do, but should be exiting to watch and a good crack on smaller land

Any photos of the greyhound / whippet ? Don’t see many now days my father kept one or two handy type local

It’s 3/4 whippet but would pass for a pure whippet to look at, only 4 months old

Not digging g at you, but I thought you said the other day there's a tiny bit of greyound and collie in the breeding?

My apologies if I've mistaken it with someone else's pup.

Lovely looking pup. 👍

In the eyes of who’s god

History not re written imported , it’s no big science to use a dog bred to run and run with bottomless stamina  is it have a read of historical coursing don’t imply that it all began once upon a time with a dog bred to kill got a bootslip for a few quid lol

Yes it around 1/4 greyhound and a drop of collie further back but not entirely sure of percentage, sire was a pure whippet and mother was out of a first cross whippet grey put to a whip grey with a drop of collie

Just being a bit pedantic now, and not having a pop at anyone; but if someone says “proper coursing” , I automatically think of coursing under NCC rules, which IS dog v dog, not dog v hare, as is evident by the scoring system.

I get what Fens means, his version of “proper coursing” is I think, coursing bred dog single handed against a hare. Which is fine, I’ve done and vastly enjoy both, but they are different versions of the same sport.

Id guess, but don’t know, that GL does both versions with his whippets, but thinks like me that “proper coursing” is organised coursing under rules.

Im certainly not wanting an argument, it’s just my opinion.

Cheers.
