Anyone here went to the last Waterloo cup ?

I remember the start of the first day being delayed because of the frost and the rock hard ground.

By the third day the conditions had changed dramatically and there were huge pools of water on Altcar.

That saluki type that was slipped on a spent hare killed it in a huge pool of water right in front of me, I videod it .

Hard to believe it was 20 years ago !

Cheers.

I went a few times, don’t think I went to the last one, every time I did go I would always go on the second day when it was ran on the big feild at lydiate because that day was more a test of stamina and you would get to see better courses than on the withins, for those that don’t know it was always ran 3 days on the trot, the first day at withins to test speed the second day at lydiate to test stamina and the third day back to the withins to see if they had retained that speed after the previous 2 days coursing, this was supposed to be the ultimate test for the greyhound over 3 consecutive days

I’ve seen the greyhounds at the Waterloo cup numerous times and they can pull to a hare in seconds off a 100 plus yards slip, to be fair there is no coursing bred dog alive that would beat a good greyhound at getting to the hare first

Correct fens our bonding is ongoing lol

I certainly think Shashi kept his speed for the final, the way he won the run up, turned the hare 180 degrees and picked it up on the run .

A worthy winner in my mind 👍

The hares at the Waterloo lived on the land and were pushed onto the coursing feild from the surrounding feilds by a line of beaters

Did they collect them leading up.to.the comp frommither areas?

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect

      Evening all,
I'm lucky enough to have first pick from a friends litter. He’s crossed his Saluki dog with his Collie Bull GH bitch. I’ve only seen videos of the litter as he’s based in UK. Few different characters in the litter, some sit reluctant off in the back ground others play among themselves two are incredibly forward one more than the other.

What key things do you look for when picking a litter? I’ve mostly ran mine on rabbits, reds and some others.

      Go stead,
      oshea
