chartpolski 28,778
Anyone here went to the last Waterloo cup ? I remember the start of the first day being delayed because of the frost and the rock hard ground. By the third day the conditions had changed dramatically and there were huge pools of water on Altcar. That saluki type that was slipped on a spent hare killed it in a huge pool of water right in front of me, I videod it . Hard to believe it was 20 years ago ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

I went a few times, don’t think I went to the last one, every time I did go I would always go on the second day when it was ran on the big feild at lydiate because that day was more a test of stamina and you would get to see better courses than on the withins, for those that don’t know it was always ran 3 days on the trot, the first day at withins to test speed the second day at lydiate to test stamina and the third day back to the withins to see if they had retained that speed after the previous 2 days coursing, this was supposed to be the ultimate test for the greyhound over 3 consecutive days 1 Quote Link to post

A worthy winner in my mind Cheers. Quote Link to post
