I'm afraid so. A good example was Badenoch's promise to abolish stamp duty. Well big f****n deal. That will make a tremendous difference to everybody's lives. Parties never think outside the box. It's always little baubles for the natives. But parties are now controlled by big business so they are in a straitjacket too.

The amount of Ukrainian flags that went up and now Palestinian flags, when you start seeing that in little Devon villages where they are untouched by the real issues of all this unrest, it makes you wonder how easily people are brain washed... Contrary to my previous post, I quite like seeing the English and British flags flying, but it has become a bit of a bandwagon to jump on rather than true patriotism imo.. I remember being in Ireland a lot as a youngster and every night at last orders in the pubs the anthem would be played and everyone would stand and sing, there were flags everywhere, there was true patriotism... I've said before about how I found Japan to be beautifully patriotic, by how they acted, the pride in their towns/cities, the way they interacted with each other and tourists.... As above I like seeing the flags but is it true patriotism or there for social media views and to signal some false solidarity? My daughters partner is a pretty well travelled lad, he said he loved Japan and he was saying that they just politely view every foreigner as a guest…he said they will always ask “When are you going home ?” Like it’s just a given that you don’t belong there, not in an ultra nationalistic aggressive way, just common sense that you obviously are not Japanese. Mind you, he is also a committed nationalist, racist and rabid anti semite…..but all done with a massive intellectual understanding of history and politics and world events From a lad with a very quiet nature and decent degree……so he fits right in on the first bit….maybe not so much on the second ! lol

I love reading about the way different countries organise their societies. As you know, I'm a great admirer of the Nordic countries. People scoff at The Global Happiness Index which consistently feature the Nordic countries, especially Finland. But , for me, sod everything else, governments should be driving at all times to make its citizens lives better.

Absolutely, I mean it’s a nice thing for those who benefit but in the grand scheme of the state of Britain it’s meaningless nonsense ! And this has been my thing with Reform, we all know painting around the edges won’t have the slightest impact on anything but to then go further and suggest all the same people that got us into this shit are the ones to fix it ?….and to suggest it or they will is just plain dishonest ! And if we are getting dishonesty now then what are we getting after ?……we have been bitten enough with all that surely ? Edited yesterday at 09:03 by WILF

I wasn't making a victim , look at me, rebel stance. I just didn't support the royal family. My choice. Leave me alone. Thankfully the anthem has virtually died out now.
