The way I understand it is that the boats, engines, life jackets etc, are manufactured in China, smuggled across porous, corrupt borders like Hungary, then , because of the Schengen, EU open borders agreement , travel to Germany for assembly and storage, then on to Belgium and France for use to cross the Channel.

They could be intercepted at the EU border if it weren’t for corruption, or at the German, Belgian, French borders if it wasn’t for the EU’s Schengen Open Borders agreement.

So Brexit may have removed the Dublin Agreement, but on the other hand the EU has made it incredibly easy for the boats to arrive at the beaches of France.

Cheers.

What is it about policy in any of those countries you mention that makes you think they want to limit migration or anything that enables it ?

Insane crowds I’ve never known anything like it absolute madness I was up near the stages and it got a bit worrying at one point it was so rammed.

In the middle of it, thousands and thousands of us here

Mate,i wish I had seen your message earlier i would have met you,i enjoyed your company last time.I am sitting somewhere munching on olives far above the crowd with the best view of the stage.

There is no need to come out of the EHCR. Germany and Norway have simply suspended that part of the agreement which details accepting migrants. There's no talk of chucking them out of the convention. A delegation of Labour MPs has been sent scurrying to Germany to find out exactly how they've done it.

Abandoning The EHCR without a legal document which replaces or improves our human rights would be rabid madness. Especially with Farage in charge. It wouldn't just be turkeys voting for Christmas, it would be turkeys plucking themselves, taking their own guts out leaping into the oven.

Magna Carta ?

Define credible in the current situation mate ?

(Not looking for an argument, just an interesting conversation)

Credible in that Farage and Reform arent straying too far to the right,( or left), that will alienate the “centre ground voters”. too much.

It’s an absolute fact that you can’t win a General Election without taking the “ centre ground voters “ with you.
This is why Labour are accusing Farage of going “far right” and the Tories are accusing Farage of tacking to the left !

As for Reform becoming the “Tory party”, it does concern me , but I see they are cherry picking who they will take from the Tories, they have refused to accept Suella Braverman, and her husband who had joined Reform has now left.

Its disingenuous to think a party with just four or five MP’s could win a GE and get 400-450 new MP’s with absolutely no experience, so taking in a few, well experienced ex Tories who have the same views as Reform makes sense to me, BUT they have to be ruthless with their selection process.

As usual, just my personal views and opinions.

Cheers.

I don’t know if they want to limit it, I never said I did ?
I was just replying to Jukel comment about the boats.

Here’s another left field question, would it actually be better for Labour to get elected again ? …..I’m starting to think it would.

Going on the premise that outright war is the only solution ?.  I think we might already be there and to be honest a war or an asteroid is probably the only solution now.

I checked many of the papers yesterday. They all quoted 110,000. The police figures.

Just shows how reliable the media is.

When 52,000 came out of StJames Park on Saturday , it looked minuscule compared to the crowd in London.

Cheers.

So you mean you can't win an election with tweets and online rants about immigrants?

Do you mean to say they would need experience and an ability to run an economy that's based on balancing debt and interest rates?

Who would of thought it?

I thought Tommy Robinson and rupert Lowe could do it easily 🤣

For as far back as you can research there’s one thing governments have always punched down on and that’s people that want to come together for the common good. If stopping all the immigration will unite people behind a flag and cause them to question more and more the waste of public money and corruption in government they will not let it happen. If you can have everyone looking in one direction while you gut the public services and raise taxes and increase debt you could say you’ve the perfect crime
