From 10 weeks of age pups need free running. if they dont get it upto 6months they will never reach there potential as a running dog. Free running means just that and when hes had enough they stop and

MUCH to high protein for a pup. Find a lower protein food. You will find a lot of your problems will go away

Cheers. I’m not disagreeing with you hear but Every puppy food I’ve seen are all like 26-30% so would I be better just feeding a normal adults food around 20%? Sorry for sounding daft just I’ve always been told as much protein as possible with pups. But like I said I’m not disagreeing just want to get it right

Google or ai not throw up any answers on acidosis?

Concensus with the dog men I've spoke to is all dogs get it and so will you a few times a season if your out on the land walking it and theres nothing to  worry about

Something else can cause it and is  alot worse deadly even what my cream un got

Again not from been unfit could be like but bit as bad

But from exertion and heat

That's rhybadosis I'm surprised the bull lads didn't get on that all the graft they put in lol

If the dog lives it won't ever be the same a shadow will still.smash bunny hare deer on the lamp but  on the daytime running proper tackle no chance

And the it will.struggle.to.piss squirt it out bits at a time and piss will  be like treacle all the time after really Screenshot_20250820_103542_Chrome.jpg.07be475b7333bc30388f54e3d656b227.jpg

For the young lad with the pup . Muscles should expand and retract during exercise.  When acidosis hits , imagine rubbing 2 sheets of sand paper together.  Well that's what the Muscles go like . Very painful.

At 4 and half months old id start looking at adult feeds. May a week of adult and puppy together 50/50 and then knock the puppy feed out. If you have a source of raw i would be using that as well, just as a treat. A chicken wing when the pup has done something right will feed and keep occupied for a while.

I’ve seen it in running dogs, especially those “doubled muscled” non-peds. I owned one, extremely fast but suffered muscle cramps straight after a race, but haven’t seen it in a pup so young.

Cheers.

Bulldogs get it sometimes after it's cause  as you say as far as I'm aware over extertion exhaustion when there pushing the boundaries but I can't see it being a problem with a pup a working dog pushing its limits yes pup can't see it

Next time she's stiff at night, only when she's calm try pushing each back leg back (like the bone man does) if she shows any discomfort in either leg it may be her hips. Hip dysplasia doesn't show itself until approx 12wks of age. Pit bulls are prone to it.

I've had dogs with it. Young dogs seem to be absolutely fine most of the time, you will only notice it when they are tired/walking slowly. When their brain is engaged and their up on their toes you cannot see it.

Best of luck with her.
