Personal/family protection dog

Recommended Posts

Heard a dog barking from across the street one day, never heard a bark like it, f****n hell it was standing about 7 foot tall on hind legs a big Kangal in a tiny little path and there was a pup sitting under it, that looked like some sort of Caucasian Shepherd big lump

Some decent advice on here.

Where I used to live peoples security systems are like something from Fort Knox…..everyone has got motion detectors and alarm systems and 24 hour CCTV and all sorts of other stuff……now I don’t know if it’s just me, but I find that terrible…..I mean honestly, what part of any of that having to be on normal suburban houses in British towns is in any way “normal” ?
How we can normalise that is beyond me ?……f**k living like that, it’s just not f***ing right.

It’s all down to law and order mate if there’s no punishment then it’s a free for all. The rewards are greater than the risk.

With all due respect, so what ?

What relevance has what happens in the rest of world got to a British commuter town or rural village ?
what?, should we all be going “Well, if it’s happening in Timbuktu it must be ok then !”
Sorry, but I don’t understand that at all.

Yes, we had twocing and the odd burglary and the odd bit of street crime, but these things were actually viewed as unusual and terrible, not just part of everyday life…..we didn’t have 3 bed semis with more security than your local Barclays Bank !

The nature of crime has also changed, I don’t remember home invasions as a kid, young family’s tortured by gangs for their play station and car keys.

I don’t remember kidnappings, stabbing wasn’t just “another stabbing” and unworthy of even the slightest mention in the news.

So maybe people like me do have rose tinted glasses or maybe some of us have normalised that which just isn’t f***ing normal in a 1st world society and especially one of the greatest society’s historically the earth has ever seen.

The odd burglary and car theft,??I said my area,it was a huge problem in the north east, certainly not the "Odd burglary"

Yes,the nature of crime is evolving and changing.

It's nothing new, a few of my first hunting mates ended up being wrong un's, guess what their modus operandi was, yep, they used to go lamping and to top off their night they used to go robbing trailers and what not off farms, it then led to one of them breaking in to the farmers house, tying him up and ransacking his home, unfortunately the farmer didn't put a slug in between his eyes, he should have

I think that’s very naive mate, not digging you out or anything.

That school of thought is based on the assumption that these people care about a prison term…..I have to tell you mate, they don’t….they could not  give two fucks about getting 2 years or lifed off, not a bit of heed about it.

Anyone who think prison is a deterrent to people who have abandoned civilised ideas and just live by base instinct has not, imho, thought it through very well.

I just checked the crime stats,my old neighbourhood is quite gentrified nowadays after they demolished loads of streets, crime rate has dropped.

It felt the same around here, that it was at it's worst in the 90's, probably ties in with the heroin epidemic.

I was a kid but knew three active burglars in my street, and there was no smack around at that time, they had no morals whatsoever,it was a terrible area for a kid.
