Early bird or night owl

Recommended Posts

08.00 Day off today and so jumped on here to catch up and noticed the usual suspects bickering hasn’t kicked off yet. Maybe they’re all still in bed, whilst the rest of THL get stuck into a bit of graft to keep the nation’s neck above the water?

Anyway, as a younger man like most I burned the candle at both ends, and barely felt effect. Nowadays I’m up between 4 & 5 and in work before 7 after a 40 minute commute. I wish I could reset my body clock to rise and retire later but I’ve tried a few times to no avail. Not a problem now whilst I work but not sure what the fcuk I’ll do with me sen at 04.30 every morning when I’m retired.

I rarely hit bed before 1am . I'm up at 6.45am and at work for 8am ...ive always been a night owl , im not a great morning person,  it's normally around 10am before I feel sociable lol

If you got you sleep right ...you might be able to squat more than two plates....

Never really had a sleep pattern, but I don’t go to bed early ever…..I always worked along the lines of if you only get an hours kip one night, or no Kip at all then you just sleep on the next night……

Body clock what's that? If I'm working days I don't get to sleep whilst after midnight, sometimes until the morning, when I'm on nights I get 2-3 hours sleep during the day. I don't think I've had a good kip since I was a bairn.

Man up lad, next time set your alarm for midnight or if it's getting too much, 1am.

I read before that historically people in the middle ages I think used to have 2 sleeps a night . First sleep would be until 1 or 2 ish and the. Wake up fir couple hours and do housework etc then back to bed until wake time . Never got further than reading 1 article on it but it sounded interesting

If I get up at 6am is a lie in for me especially on a weekend,my new partner can’t get her head around why I get up from 4.30 plus as I can’t get back to sleep. So it’s up housework done and dogs fed and out for a walk by 6.30-7.

Bit like that myself mate. Saturdays i usually feel burnt out and after doing the weekly shop in Tesco with the old woman feel even more drained so usually have an hours kip Saturday tea time.
