eastcoast 4,847
A good friend of mine is a dentist. From the wrong side of the tracks but was always a stupidly clever lad. Could have been more than a dentist but chose not to. I blame it on his fascination with drugs, once he was given more knowledge and free access to them. He developed a social conscience. Anyway, many of them are c**ts. Dentists. Or more accurately the people who own the practices. No different to most other business' , £££'s and bums on seats. He has fought for years against it. A dentist tells you that a tooth must be extracted? It probably does not, but an extraction can be done in less time than the skilled procedure to save it. Bums on seats. My friend will never extract a tooth that can be repaired no matter how much longer it takes. Do not qualify for NHS treatment? Some assume that they do not, my friend used to give them the forms to fill in when he knows that they do. His past bosses did not like him, and some of his more commercially minded peers, but he still makes a good living without ripping people off and more importantly uses all of his skills to a do good job on people's teeth and takes great pride in doing so. That is what he was trained to do, not make money by deception.
