Trouble is how many of these bull/herders are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs? But saying that how many of the 1000s of bull/greyhounds up and down the british Isles are bred out of tried and tested bulldogs

That's obviously desirable but how good a bulldog is actually needed?

Bull and collie; the two least favourite breeds in a lurcher for me !

Never had a bull cross, and the term “couldn’t catch a rabbit in a ‘phone box” could have been invented for the only collie x I’ve had the misfortune to have in my kennel ! LOL !

Cheers.

Yes, ideally you would choose the best bulldog available but it's clear fast line bulldogs aren't always needed.

To breed a dog for protection work no you dont need tried and tested bulldogs as has already been proven. But having that attitude is probably why 90%of bull cross lurchers aint worth a w**k

You don't need fast lane bulldogs to beer with to take teeth as well, over the pond what do you usually think they use for hog work, it usually ain't dogs from grand champions.

Taking hogs aint no great shakes mate.Ive seen boar taken by a lurcher that wouldnt even look at a fox if run on its own.Owned an AB too that took them but wouldnt stick its head in a hole
