I'm further north, towards Preston. If I've got em you can have em. Also normally have plenty duck and pheasant carcasses that have just had the breasts taken off. 

Squirrels will normally only be in 1-2's unless we have a dray poking day in a month or two

Full of fleas too I personally wouldn’t feed them my ferrets

wasnt there a post saying that squirrel pox they can catch can be passed on to ferrets ?

Thanks guys for your comment think I will pass on the idea of feeding them to my ferret if they aren't good for them

I've given my ferrets a few squirrels and I ended up having to cut them up for them to eat them . Whole carcass they didn't bother much with but if I cut it up a bit so they had easy access into the meat they ate it no problem

same here mate, I found if I gutted them first they would eat them.

I'm no expert but i put it down to their hides being a bit tough to get through

Same always took guts out and I thought fleas ticks etc would drop off 10 mins or so after dispatch

I always freeze them first now and feed at a later date.

That's the best way to do it Fred, kills all parasites that way

Once a body goes cold then fleas and tics will all vacate it, If your really paranoid then freeze it for a couple of days, Fish is a good food for ferrets. full of pure protein, A small jack pike now and again is good for them,

Get yourself a freezer i run 3 and fill them up during the summer with dog and ferret food
