Nothing wrong with squirrels.  If you are worried about fleas bag the squill in the freezer. In fact squirrels are the perfect shape for stacking in a freezer.

It's normal for ferrets to leave the skin .

Avoid any that might've been feeding on rat baits but they are a fine and convenient food.
