Kennel bedding

I once went to the yard of a very well known local greyhound trainer, This place was a shit hole and absolutely infested with rats. As for bedding i always used shredded wax paper on raised beds with a board across the front. All went to shit when the dogs were wet though as it stuck to the dogs and then dropped off all over the kennels as they dried, If you didn't keep on top of it, it would block the drains, I never used heating with fit adult dogs and they never suffered without it, But again mine were always kennelled together, so shared body heat,

Get ready for the horror stories of kennelling dogs together Lol, I had very little issues only the usual pecking order disputes that usually involved the odd bloody muzzle but then again i was not daft enough to kennel dogs of the same age, size and weight together. I once had 2 big lurcher dogs,  Father and son kennelled together, at the time i had a little smooth coated Patterdale bitch, She use to sleep in there kennel at times, Only thing is she kept them off the bed board and they slept on the floor underneath it. Funny things dogs Lol.

I prefer 2 dogs of similar size together tbh

its the age bit that makes a big difference mate, The pup went in with his sire at around 11months old possibly younger, at around 18months he tried to become the dominate one and soon got put in his place by his sire even though he was actually bigger than his sire by then, fast forward 5 or 6 years and he tried again, this time the old dog submitted, other than that no troubles at all but as i said the little Patterdale bitch made them both back down Lol

Hence why i mainly tended to keep dogs, The bull whippet bitch i had was in general great with other dogs and all stock but if another bitch even looked at her the wrong way then all hell would break loose. Typical females if you ask me Lol

Nice high sides that’s handy. I have gone back to straw last night get her nice and cosy started to turn chilly now. It gets changed weekly. But bale straw is a pain to get hold of at least close by. Bale paper was 20 quid delivered to door but could got 4 bales for that. Save it for the ferrets

Nothing shocks me in the working dog world these days.Ive been to some of the so called top dog mens places over the years and seen dogs living in squallor.Unexercised, unsocialised, fed shit and absolutely stinking.I gave up respecting names just on reputations or what I heard from others and wanted untill I met them and witnessed their dogs/yard with my own eyes before I made my mind up about them.
