Water companies

Recommended Posts

What a crock of shit is being spouted about the profitability or as it it happens the debt they have accumulated since they were privatised. Jacob Rees Mog on telly last night saying the debt will be written off, What about all the sub contractors that will loose money, Will they also write off all debts owed by customers?.

The only fact they are not telling you is, Between 2006 and 2021 the combined debt of all the water companies was 52 billion, The combined dividend pay-out to share holder's in the same period was 51 Billion, Now if i was a sceptical man i would say it almost appears as if this was there intention from the start, Borrow a shit load of money, pay it to themselves and then go bankrupt to clear the debt, The head of Thames water quit last week, taking a pay out of nearly half a million with her, all whilst the company owes 14 billion, Its a disgrace/

Do any of you fellas think you already pay enough tax to the government that at the minimum you could expect clean drinking water without getting raped again for it.

Who pays for the pumping stations, the pipe lines, the sewage systems the drainage systems, the purification systems , etc ?  If we want to drink from muddy puddles like the niggers, then it would b

The likely bankruptcy and nationalisation of Thames Water Company is just another block being removed from the great jenka tower that is the rapidly accelerating decline and fall of the UK !

The consortium that owns TWC is a maze of shell companies, holding companies, pension funds, etc based in countries such as china, Canada, Abu Dhabi that have been payed huge dividends and paying massive salaries to executives but no one knows who would be responsible for the £14 BILLION of debt !

It will be the UK taxpayers and our water bills going up by an estimated 40% that will pay for it.

Just remember that when you watch the adverts on TV asking us for money to build water supplies in Africa, when there’s hosepipe bans and taps being turned off here in England ….
Cheers.

I am sure someone said that 630 million litres of water per day are lost through leaking pipes just in the Thames Water area. I agree we are all fcuked. Its history repeating itself back to 1930`s Germany.

South West Water has on a hose pipe ban for nearly a year now. We pay I think the highest charge for the duel lowest performing company it boils my piss. Not one new reservoir has been built since 1989 privatisation in the country. There was one I think finished after but started before. SWW are now saying they have just built one but its just an old clay pit they have bought.

Cheers Arry

Hers a thought, perhaps all the Billions spent and due to be spent on HS2,  so some businessman can knock 20 minutes off his train journey, Should have been spent on our fresh water a sewerage infrastructure. All utilities should belong to the country and be managed by the government but saying that i suspect the outcome would still be the same.

Going off on a tangent here but for anyone who lives on their own and does not have a water meter fitted it could be worth doing. I queried my water bill a few years ago and found out the band that they had me on was way off my actual usage. They had my property as inhabited by a family of 3 to 4, wrong. Regular baths, wrong, when I bought it I took the bath out and made a shower room. Regular watering of garden, I paved and gravelled the back and never water the grass at the front. Quite a few other things that I was being overcharged for.

When I asked for the band to be changed the cheeky b*****ds said that is not something that they do! And so got a water meter fitted and started paying significantly less, even though they still try and rip me off from time to time.

Edited to say Northumbria Water.

I had our water company down as we are on soakaways front and back but they were charging me for run off, This bloke turned up and said that they could not change anything as my sink drain was not covered so rainwater could get in, in in an entry at the side of the house with a 6ft fence 4ft in front of it Lol Wankers

A few years back there was a knock on my door; it was someone from Northumbria water. He was supposed to check the water quality next door but they weren’t in. I said we have the same water supply, so he could check ours.

Anyway, we got talking and he asked if we had a water meter, I said no. He asked a few questions; how many in the house, water usage, etc.

He said we should consider a water meter as he was convinced we would save money.
They would fit a water meter for free, and after a year, if it didn’t save money it could be removed.

So, I had one fitted and my yearly bill dropped from around £400 to around £200 !

My next door neighbour isn’t on a meter so when I need to top up the pond or water the garden he just throws a hose over !

Cheers.

Wessex water are working on a leak near Seagry ,little village 10 miles from me ( no I don’t live there  Grey man ) ???

I say working on ,more like creating a leak ffs .There was a small area on the tarmac while back that someone reported. Now , for 4 days they have been pumping water down a ditch at full bore through a 4 inch pump which if you know anything about that is some amount of water .
3 way traffic control ,two machines ,8 men with a transit van each ffs .No wonder the Authorities want to up our contributions if that’s standard practice .I know they purge the line from time to time in fixing leeks but 4 days ,really .
