DIDO.1 22,855
Anyone collect or store gold? I'm mainly buying silver but looking to add more gold sovereigns to my stack. Every time I look at the price it's so high it's unbelievable....so I wait....and it just goes higher! 5 years ago it was under £1000 an ounce. Last night it hit an all time high at well over 1600. I first bought a gold sovereign in 2005! Wish I'd bought £10,000 worth then! It was £243 an ounce in 2005! Now well over 1600. I haven't even got the brain power to work out what my inheritance would be worth today if I'd invested it in gold, rather than spunking it on bullfights and pheasant shooting.
jok 3,401
Went into the gold souk (market) in Riyadh, SA in about 1982 and bought quite a substantial amount. Few years back my 2 daughters decided on a house each. Their deposits were well sorted and we still some stash. Like you, hindsight is unbelievable and I reckon if we had waited we probAbly would have bought the hoses outright. Kappa days. Jok.

You invested in something far more valuable than a few bits of yellow metal, experiences and yourself.

As I typed it I knew you would pop up with some wise words about it being better spent on life's experiences. Your like a cannabis dealing Dali Lama (without the kiddy kissing bit).
