Hunting rabbits

Recommended Posts

I wore loads while in hunt service or gamekeeping but only because I got it free from friends and family and I couldn't afford anything else....but I'd only ever wear one piece of it at a time. Camo coat or trousers but never both.....full military camo makes you look like a Walt.

Never been in to fancy dress with all the camo gear I’ve always thought it strange when people dressed up in full army gear to roll around the country side like there on a military operation just to catch a few rabbits with a dog/ferrets. I’ve always just been a solid greens an browns wearing type of guy my sen got to admit I’ve enjoyed many a nights lamping in jogging bottoms an a fleece jacket same goes for ferreting

I think camouflage gear attracts more attention than just wearing good practical out door clothing I’ve got access to loads as my boy was ex forces but you feel a bit of a twat in it and as Dido says it’s the clothing of Walt’s walking up and down the high street on a Saturday afternoon, and no disrespect to fishermen but what’s with head to toe real tree sitting around a lake like the fish know or even care ?

I wear camo' trousers when mole trapping. Nothing to do with hiding from the moles, more to do with muck not showing up as much on my trousers. And as has been said; camo' stuff is often cheap and durable. The miltary smocks are ideal for country sports having good strong zips, loads of pockets and rip proof material.

When I say camo' is ideal for country sports I wouldn't suggest that you wear it while riding to hounds. It might become fashionable in time, but not just yet.

There was a guy livebaiting for pike yesterday dressed in trainers, jogging bottoms and a fleece jacket just like you see the lazy binners in Aldi who are too idle to iron anything. Marked him down as a casual, not a proper angler. Didn't even have a Korum or Drennan rod. Probably a pikie piking.

Preston supply match anglers. They have to wear the right team colours for sponsorship purposes. You are the equivalent of someone playing footy in the park wearing a Ronaldo shirt. You'd be escorted off a carp syndicate water ?
