Following the trial of the terrorist bombers who assaulted a prison officer in Belmarsh prison the chief screw says:

"Peter Clarke, former Chief Inspector of Prisons and the former senior counter terror officer, and a senior fellow at the think tank Policy Exchange, said the prison system has not adapted well to handling prisoners who are inspired by al-Qaeda and the Islamic State Group.

"What needs to happen is that the people managing these prisoners need to be expert in the particular risks which these prisoners present," he told BBC News.

"It's no good just treating them as other prisoners are treated. There needs to be a unique and tailored approach."

Attack pigs would do it. Put the barstewards in a cell with a couple of boars.

I don't think Islamist terrorists  should be housed together. They just reinforce each others crackpot beliefs and give each other confidence. Put them into the general maximum security prison population.

That might not be to far from reality, unbeknown to many the uk is building 4 super max style prisons and the first one is already underway, all the old Victorian prisons will be gone overtime, turned into trendy flats

Sadly its long past that, but you put a rotten apple in a barrel of fresh ones the fungal spores spread and infect the fresh fruits, isolation within the prison system, total isolation, but even now that's no longer an option, should have been done a long time ago, Islamic gangs have infected the penal system in the UK, bullying other prisoners to convert, its almost fashionable, should never have been allowed to happen but the politicians who should have stamped down on it from the outset didn't.

None of that changes the fact that its a simple fix...... how bad things have to get before the most basic and obvious critical thinking takes place who knows.

Regards the penal system its a tiny tiny minority.....but like everywhere else in life that minority are almost untouchable,and they know it.

Anything that is banned becomes a black market commodity, I have a mate that’s been going to turkey for years, takes two suitcases of bacon over and it covers his holiday he even pays the hotel manager in bacon, as they are not meant to eat it they all want it
