shovel leaner 7,648
Saw something similar yesterday. It was more of a vortex that was visible because it was full of dust and barley straw . It’s all this hot air creating them , I’ve seen a few , but not strong enough to lift or flatten anything significant .

low plains drifter 9,498
Thought you meant a strawberry fruit ice on the inside, lime fruit ice, and pineapple ice cream on the outside, originally the tangle twister launched in 1982 2

Turn the cut hay over behind a tractor? Well, I'm coming up a hedge, one time. My neighbour's on the other side, flicking hay. I know this, because it's all shooting up and spinning in the air. I can see it over the hedge. But, when I speak to him later? I mention how I passed him, flicking the hay. And he says he hasn't been flicking hay I explain what happened and he says, " Oh! You've seen a Dust Devil! " Now, I must admit; I'm so deaf I simply never questioned the fact that I couldn't hear his tractor, just yards away. But, fukk me; If I'd looked over that hedge? I don't know What I'd have made of it! Never heard of such a thing, see?

Jonjon79 13,345
We get a few dust devils in the stone yard at work when the days are warm and dry. They can be anything from just a few feet tall to around 30ft, they're not powerful, just enough to pick up a bit of dust - it looks good when there's a few at the same time. Not so good if you get caught without your safety glasses
