So it was not the working class hunters who imported most of the saluki's? I always had the idea that the foundation for our coursing dogs were imported in the 70's for some reason. most the saluki in the start of our coursing breds we’re from my old man a lot a knightellington and then some wind swift 70s and 80s negma al jaiden sir terence clark’s stuff come later etc come later Edited November 19, 2021 by mC HULL Quote Link to post

I'd had guessed that it was the lads who were in to the coursing clubs and all that who would have started importing them. I very much doubt the small time moocher would have bothered until they became more popular. I imagine importing them was a dear do back in the day. Quote Link to post

The Field Hunter 132
My old saluki x was a good dog on the ruff ground would run all types of places up dales cathing gear easily. Get him on the flat land ferreting the hedgerows and then not so good . Used to annoy me sometimes the way he ran but thinking back still put loads of stuff away with that dog Quote Link to post
