Wow, what a thought provoking documentary. Don't want to ruin it for anyone that wants to watch it so won't say to much; the first 10/15 minutes I thought they where going to blame it all on the asains and then it really started to show how as much as the asains do against specific species we are all playing a massive part when we buy any seafood. The problems not straws and watch it to see.

This is the synopsis for the documentary -

The film features the effects of plastic marine debris[2] and overfishing around the world.[3] It argues that commercial fisheries are the main driver of marine ecosystem destruction[4], citing, among other scientific findings,[5] a 2018 study which found that fishing nets make up 46% of the Great Pacific garbage patch.[6] Seaspiracy rejects the concept of sustainable fishing and criticises several marine conservation organisations, including the Earth Island Institute and its dolphin safe label[7][8] and the sustainable seafood certifications of the Marine Stewardship Council.[9] The film proposes marine reserves and the elimination of fish consumption.[10] The documentary also covers modern slavery within the fishing industry.[11][4]

Cant say i watched all of it but the bits i flicked through made me realise once again how huge scale brainwashing is once again at play......here i am terrified to drop a plastic spoon into the water

I can stomach most things but seeing whale sharks caught as bycatch and hundreds of thousands of sharks having their fins sliced off and dumped, absolutely turned my gut. All that plastic pollution th

Looks like subsidised industries is why

That’s another thing that winds me up. When people moan about subsides and say farmers shouldn’t get it. That’s fine you will just to have to pay more for your food ?

If theirs ever to be a change for the good on this it needs to be decisions made high up in wprls governments and things stuck to. But i can never see that happening

The facts and tragedy in this documentary are astonishing and depressing

As i side note the guy presenting it was a complete muppet

i thought it was intresting that that masive oil spill in the gulf of mexico ....only killed a fraction of fish and animals comparied to normal fishing in the area.....and in fact because of the ban on fishing in the area after the spill.....the sea became healthier ..its ironic when you think about it

That's true; I'm still happy to eat fish I've caught myself though. There are places I fish I wouldn't eat the fish from though
