Winter solstice

Celebrating the winter solstice over here today, 5000 year old New Grange was the focal point for towns and city’s lighting up public spaces.

Poetry and music on the telly.

Amazing stuff.

My pal Stiffmiester will chuckle at this but it was actually very moving and fitting, they just had Clannad on at the end of a poetry and music programme celebrating it.

Very pagan stuff.......I love that things like that are preserved

Was speaking to the woman who rents a place off me earlier, she was saying she doesn't do Christmas but celebrates solstice, she's a nurse so works Christmas day to give others who do celebrate it a day off....

The old ways will never die, no matter what comes or goes, they will always remain. 

That's some feat of engineering, new grange. Would love to attend a solstice some year. I bet it would be moving.
