There's a code in boxing which says you never quit but I would rather see a fighter admitting he's had enough than see him brain damaged, blind or dead. There's no shame in tapping out in UFC, or a rugby player coming off injured. Why should boxing be different?. We've all got quit in us. We shouldn't expect our boxers to be maimed or killed for the sake of macho pride whilst we sit on our arses and applaud. I think the lad has a big future in the game, I hope he comes back and proves his critics wrong. Except for marciano

Couldn't believe why his corner didn't figure out a way for him to avoid the majority of those jabs. Yes he blocked them with his face, hes defo not afraid haha

You may of heard Martin saying around the 4th round " This is the fight game ".....what he meant is this is the reality of conversations they have had many many times as Daniel has always been mentally fragile.....but that doesnt mean he cant and wont win fights. Saying theres nothing wrong with quitting is a fans mentality, not a fighters.....its what separates the two.
jukel123 9,424
Everybody has a quitting point both in life and in fights. I would die for certain things like my family. But if I was in a fight and continuing was hopless or too painful or too dangerous for my future health. I would say 'yep I've had enough' .If people said I was a quitter or a coward they can say or think what they want. Everybody has their level and their quitting point. I don't believe all these hard men who say they would never quit under any circumstances. I honestly don't admire a man who is willing to die in the ring,I think he's a fool. There are things worth dying for, but not a boxing match..Jmho. Edited December 5, 2020 by jukel123

But that’s not a thought process you would have the luxury of in the ring, taking a knee in the ring is an option but in most fights you would get your head kicked off, it’s not a conscious decision it’s how your mind tells you to behave in combat, if your hurt you go harder to get the person doing the hurt out of there, or so your mind tells you

And thats why you're not a fighter.....its nothing to do with being a " hard man " its just competitive spirit Michael Watson didnt almost take his death to prove he was a hard man ( or the many other ring casualties ) he/they did it because their sheer fighting will to win wouldnt allow them to do anything different......its not something the average man in the street should be expected to comprehend so no point getting too deep into it

I'm old enough and seen enough in my life to accept what i can do and what i can't do as it's a natural selection and i know i'm a hunter first and cannon fodder second,it's the way mother nature chose for me and i am cool with it but some do try to be what there not...
