I recently went to buy some gear off a bloke in Somerset, nothing dodgy, but arranged to meet him in a golf club car park on the edge of the mendips, lovely spot, within about 10 minutes of meeting the bloke he was telling me they have to many buzzards now and shoot them as they are a pain on the local pheasant shoot, I told him I did not want to hear that and suggested not many would and he should hush his gums, not bothered what people want to do and am not naive enough to think nothing goes on but chatting to a strangers about these things is the problem, i turned up on an estate in Gloucester some years back and was told within the first hour the guy had just caught and killed an otter, it’s not hard to see how these anti,s get these story’s said it before loose lips sink ships ?

It’s probably nothing more than an inexperienced shooter making a genuine ID mistake.

But that obviously don’t sound as good as some of the phrasing in that utter nonsense of an article.

Ok on the face of it, the bird appeared to have been shot. But it seemed to come down not far from where it had been shot. SO WHY DIDNT THE person filming it go and film the person who shot it.?  Even from a distance. ?  IF the bird came down like a sack of spuds as it appeared to  how come the person filming it go out there and find the bird.?  How come the bird was found a week later out there but it died. Why didn't the person who shot it either take it away or give it a second barrel.?  It seemed to come straight down so it must have come down reasonably close to the person who shot it.  Now those who shoot would see where I am coming from.   Real.? Hype.? Made up bollocks.  What's happened since.? They wanted witnesses, who appear to be non existent to come toward. Clutching at straws.? Is this fake news.

Quite easy to make your own mate. Get some small brass plates, polish the gubbins out of them, incorporate them into your dog's collar, job done .

Oh yeah, before I forget, dog's got to be brindle, and fairly tall to tall, well, say not below about 25"ish. Job's always a tad harder with a smaller type. But can still be achieved, with diligence. Hope you have success mate

Don't want to give the trade secrets away, so we'll keep them between ourselves, if you go overboard with the brasso be sure to cake oxo all over the shiny plates to throw stealth mice off the scent, also keep a low profile, and remember it's 6 month chain gang, and £5000 per carcass if you're apprehended with brindle and bodies at the scene, so return for catch alone disguised as an agricultural seed merchant or suchlike, pinstripe, haversack the lot
