Panic buying or contingency buying.  I think I  might go out and buy some windscreen wipers for one of the cars. f**k it, I'll  buy a packet of chocolate biscuits also. If I'm  going to be locked down here with the Mrs for the next month OR more I'll have to have something to keep my strength up.

I am aware of the situation but back in the first session we were pinned down queuing around the car park and slowly the whole situation has changed .  Everyone keèps away from others and life goes on.  This virus isn't  going away in the foreseeable future. And eventually it will run it's course. It will be a trade off between deaths and the economy. We.../the country will be paying the loans back for decades just like we were still paying for loans from ww2 until 2006. Sixty year for 21 billion pounds.  Up until this August the gov has borrowed 210 billion pounds and we ain't even scratched this virus yet. There are about 65  million people in this country, so how many deaths will be the final tally.  This is a situation where the world could go into financial meltdown and God knows what the effect of that might be. Fashism and the second world war was seeded by the depression of the thirties.  I just don't think that the vast majority of people have even considered the social problems that may be on going into the future. It could end up with it being a case of every  an Jack holding onto his bit of match wood.  Ps the Mrs is my boys toy and I don't share my toys or dog with anyone.  whenever you lend out tools they either don't get given back or they come back f****d. And I  don't share my chocolate biscuits either.

My fridge is literally empty bar about 3 ounce of cheddar, 4 spring onions and two pints of milk! Death is surely certain in this post apocalyptic world!

If only I had 2 tons of pasta and a shed full of bog roll!

Seriously.... you're predicting the rise of national socialism because of the pandemic countermeasures taken? :hmm:

Mate, production and supply chains are fine. We've just got a bit of an idiot problem. It's minor.

I went to the supermarket yesterday and the woman on the till , whispered to me to look at the people behind me , a pile of pasta , meat , rice , bog roll and beer and wine . She said , “ they are panic buying , there are signs everywhere about it , we aren’t shutting , I’m getting the manager” , the manager came over and they had to put a load of there stuff back . I loved it .

I didn't panic buy last time and I wont be doing it this time neither!

I always fill my freezer and dry cupboards with what I need, bog roll is a luxury I allow the Mrs ?

All I've done is add a few extra kilos to my freezer, bought two extra kgs of pasta and that's me prepped. As Born said, fuuck all wrong with supply lines, just people acting like headless chickens, we can get fresh meat, fish and veg anytime we want.

Haven’t seen much sign of panic buying as such, just a rush on certain shops since the ‘shop down’ was announced on Friday, starting today.

So obviously shopping streets/centres were packed out in all the main towns & cities of Belgium. Which I presume is the kind of behaviour conducive with spreading a virus?
