Yep, super laced to toe were the very fellows. I remember walking a good mile or so back with the dogs in my socks they'd torn my feet up that much breaking em in! But they were the best boots I've ever bought...

I paid £80 s/h for a pair back in 1980, couldn't get on with them so sold them on again.

Best digging boots to last you are the fell boots, can't break them. For general hunting and digging I e got the hanwag alaska, real solid pair.

i actually knew a fella that broke them a few times,  mainly on basis he was  digging round Salisbury and the chalk and flint was hard going and he smashed the soles.
in fairness they resoled them for next to nothing.

Very good boots these i use these for lamping and knocking about with dogs. 

They take some breaking in but once done very hard wearing boots and good price

I got mine bnotb and they were a little stiff but wore in quickly.
