Not the greatest pics as they don't do justice to it but thought I'd share anyhow.

Anybody else have any other oaks or great trees worth checking out if I'm ever in the area? 

There's a yew tree just up the road from me with a trunk that must be 10-12ft across I'm gonna go measure this week now I've reminded myself.

May e boring for some but I think their awesome if they could talk they'd have some tales to tell. You can see why their so steeped in our folklore when your up close to trees like this.

If your ever in Bristol again mate this one is in the middle of a council estate just up the road from me on sea mills square, it’s called the Addison oak and the front door to the right of the telegraph poll was my first flat 38 years ago ??

yep .. robin hood prince of thievs the one with kevin Costner ....he has a sword fight under it with some of the sheriff of nottinghams men...lol bit far from home....

same film....he lands in England at the white cliffs...then says its a days walk home...lol.....and has a bath under a waterfall that's hardraw force in the dales..lol

I'm I saying the wrong one....aysgarth falls is the one that's more like rapids ??....hardraw is the one you go threw the pub to get to ..??

Max is on Google now, trying to find a Robin Hood link with Sunderland , however tenuous! LOL !
