Really. I’ve got two dogs here that will argue that point ... they work EVERY DAY and the odd evening thrown in ... that’s why I say there’s a difference ...

Proper graft 7 days a week, right through the season, you're some man, I’ve seen you talk some shit on here in the past but that tops it off

I don’t t know about the advert but I do know there are dogs that go ferreting and there are ferreting dogs. A big difference in the two.

A rabbit dog has 2 have a lot of whippet in it or it won't catch any same as if a dog has no bull terrier init won't even look at a fox and an hare wont get stopped by anything that's not salukified a

...because they need to be entered Caerphilly!

I don’t know, id assume you’re a rabbit catcher or similar, but it doesn’t make any difference to what I think of your statement, they’re dogs not robots, they need rest, as do humans as well, 7 days a week hard at it with no rest will take its toll, it’s not sustainable over a long period of time, either you’re talking shit or your dogs aren’t working as hard as you think they are.

Good ferret dogs are worth there wieght in gold. Prob easier to find a 100% fox or deer type than a good ferreter

Main thing it must do is kill a ferret with as little shaking as possible stops the dog humming ?

Far from it but I know enough to know what you’re saying isn’t true. There’s a common theme to your posts that you have superior knowledge to everyone else & your dogs work harder than everyone else’s. It’s all me me me, you’re like whin with a dictionary.

Re the comments about photographic evidence earlier in the thread: one of my favourites was a photo which appeared in one of the working dog magazines in the 80s or 90s in which they'd placed the day's catch on top of a huge mole hill to make it look like they had more rabbits.

Apart from the knocker box thing, which I’ve known dogs to do (although how deep they can tell I do wonder), I’d say the rest isn’t overly specialist. And I’m not sure telling you where a kill is is a genetic trait?

You asked what was expected of a ferreting dog and i give a opion ? Thats all ? I know it takes a lot more skill cunning and man hours to teach a lamper ? ?

Sorry just read the.begining of the thread dont how much ferreting you av done but a daytime rabbit in most places rarely runs more than 25 yards ? Now a whippetey lurcher which most ferreters will use ? Will be up the arse of bunny quicker than a long legged lurcher or longdog ? It aint rocket science now is it ? I wlll always say horses for courses ?
