Greb147 6,810
Having just pulled up at work a woman passed me as she walked back to her car with her Dogue de Bordeaux. It wasn't massively overweight but it had very poor confirmation and terrible bone structure. The breathing on that thing, jesus christ! It sounded like a hippo after doing a marathon! As she goes to get it a drink it lays flat out gasping for breath. The thing is, she doesn't even take the thing far as she's on crutches, what a sorry state these dogs have become. I can't believe anyone would want to breed dogs like that or even own one, something not right when your dog nearly drops dead after the morning walk. ryaldinhio 5,162
My sister has a pug and friend has a bulldog. Both cost ridiculous money. Both breeds are that inbred now that they have problems. Can't breath, allergies etc. I don't like to look at em, I just see an unhealthy dog that's suffering. Yet people pay thousands for em?!

Greb147 6,810
I can't think of many breeds that have benefited from show fanciers, the Akita is one I can think of that is doing OK but even them can develop problems. Saltmoon 2,208
I think it's alot to do with the fashion dogs these people are really animal people more look what I've got people hence the lack of walking these dogs get. My pal had a frenchie and pug both cost a fair amount but the frenchie was fit as a fiddle because it got plenty of exercise the pug always struggled due to the poor breeding of them things. If you took a dogue de bordeaux and gave it as a pup to someone who was willing to put the effort it takes to owning that type of d9g I bet it would look and be.a totally different dog

gnasher16 31,371
You only have to flick through the ads on these dog selling websites to see people are exploiting these breeds to top up their dole money.....the structure of any dog isnt going to improve when its sole reason for being bred is a wide screen tv. 7

Greb147 6,810
What gets my goat is when you hear the cockwombles on the BBC going in to detail explaining how a certain breeds confirmation is a certain way to enable it to excel in it's specific field. These wankers are the first to condemn the actions of working dogs.

Buck my big 1x gsd x grey, he 8 in august , he quite fit, still put long night in when lamp fit . i asked about his hips etc, as he 1/2 gsd , 2 vets told me that if he did get HD it wont be as bad a pure gsd , as he 1/2 greyhound as well, and that would make big difference in which is true , just the way he moves good movement for a big dog . my mate got big boerbol bitch that had knee op , and having 2nd one. total be £ 7000 grand, it not 5 yet !!, , must be fookin made pay that money out for a dog , they all shit/piss like a mongrel does . even some bulldogs =apbt are going the same way bad hips other health probs, just bred for money from poor stock. if really wanted a big type guard dog to day, i look for a bandog type a x bred animal , dogs bred for work, your in with fighting chance of healthy / good temp , type dog, not this show crap thats out there to day .
MH1 1,919
On the subject of breeding, don't know what it is but every dalmatian I've bumped into recently has been a cnut
