I used to spend many a break time watching sand Martin's in a sand and gravel quarry I was working in. About 4ft down from the top of a straight face they used to nest away from the old fox. That was in a quarry in cannock mate. The foreman told me not to leave a straight face as they will nest in there. A 45 degree angle and they won't nest. If you want the exact location I will send it via pm mate.through Google maps they are a beautiful looking bird. I've never seen them before or since.. But they are very active there.. NEWKID 29,095
Used to have sandmartins nesting on our local permission when I was a kid.... the land is covered in retail units and a big Tesco's now... Plus the home of the Exeter Chiefs, Sandy Park... The sand stone face around the site was where they nested every year..
