That's a fair one I wouldn't know how they could compete with build quality but I was thinking more of the construction costs. Timber has to be cheaper but I can't imagine that the final price of the house will be much cheaper than a brick and mortar alternative.

Squirrel_Basher 17,102
Used to install mobile phone towers at one time and pikies would cut the fence wire to hitch a 4 wheel drive onto the lightning conductors and earth mats .We had to concrete the fuckers in and double fence with Dirrek

keepitcovert 842
About ten years ago a site i was working on i was asked to build some steps up to the front door of this house, now from the pavement to the bottom of the door was a height difference of about 6 feet, it was on a steep hill and the houses were stepped terraces, Anyway i finished the steps which consisted of two pavers side by side on brick steps going up to the door. I had finished them and was working on another area of the site when the site manager came and said you will have to alter the steps Health and safety officer wants them changing, so i went off to see what the problem was, when i asked the HSE guy whats the problem he said its the overhang on the front of the paver i pointed out its the drip it was 30mm for water to clear the brickwork. He then said anyone using a zimmer frame may catch the rubbers on the overhang. I told him if anyone with a disability bought on of these houses they needed their head testing, just like you , you cupid stunt. Gods honest truth i kid you not this really happened.
