Goat cull on Islay.

Recommended Posts

An American  bird calling herself a professional huntress shoots a goat on the island of Islay and the wet wipes are up in arms. Despite the fact over 61,000 deer were culled in 2017/18 the Scottish government is going to look and assess if the rules on trophy hunting are needing changed. Someone stick a link up please.

I think there should be far more photos of the hunt and everything that is before and after it and far less of dead stuff. It totally misrepresents 'trophy' hunting, whatever the f**k that is.

I'd credit Rachel Carrie for being a brilliant blonde barbie type ambassador for shooting. I'm not a massive fan of hers but credit for promoting what we do and trying to convey the truth behind it.

This looks like a few people took exception to what she did, made a load of noise and, it's just snowballed

From what I've read, it sounds like she knows what she's doing and she did it well.

........ She put up a post saying that the meat from the stag will be used - I have no issue with trophy hunting but, all the better if the meat is being used

Also, she said that she stalked a goat for 2 days so, I'm guessing that she's not taking wild pot shots.

In my opinion, fair play to her - she should crack on and keep doing what she enjoys

Christ, there's some wankers commenting on there

........... Moaning about dangerous foreigners with sniper rifles on there land.

........... They might be a bit more understanding if they actually get out of their armchairs and bother to find out what's actually involved in owning and using a rifle or, if the looked into what that activity contributes to their economy.

If you read between the lines, what wee Jimmy is saying is political speek for a face show for " yeah someone will check to make sure our arse is not in the wrong BUT the review will be a long way down the line and at the end of the day nothing will change because we can't afford to change anything. Votes and money

I'd genuinely love the opportunity to challenge these people directly, face to face. I kinda want to get a T-shirt that says "I hunt and it's fun" for when I'm in town to provoke it. LOL

If you look at the posters and comments it might be apparent that it is only antis and wasters that have posted. This is pretty symptomatic of the shooting community  in general.  One of the worst things  is that the orgs are only interested in their thing and don't work in an aggressive manner to counter things such as the anti posters. I Belonged  to a rifle club that needed a bit of support from its governing body the Nsra but they didn't want to know. Another situation is when basc failed to support several people that I know in applications, in one case they told the bloke not to rock the boat.  They're quick enough to take the money.

Still I read this 》》》》 not everyone is against us......The Telegraph: Is it wildly hypocritical to condemn trophy hunting in Scotland?.

I got on radio Scotland debate today.  Explained that I was a pest controller.  I wasn't overly in favour of mounted fox hunting . But went along so as to have an educated view,  and changed my mind . Told the fool chairing the debate that I dislike using glue boards for rodents , but some situations require there use . I repeatedly said that people should have an educated opinion.  I was quickly ushered off . Fools
