We've proven we can run both countries on renewables. We've got the technology to make emissions practically zero yet we have an institution that constantly blocks this and bills us at every step of the way... Funny how we've gone from a computer the size of an average warehouse to one in the pocket yet the power source for all of this hasn't changed in 200 years. I think the majority would switch tomorrow if they could afford to. Can we have less of that talk on this thread please, I work in research in that outdated energy industry! Joking aside I don't think either society is ready for the massive upheaval that would stem from a short-term drastic shift of that magnitude. I'm not surprised you feel that way with the government's history of commissioning scientific studies on a subject to then ignore the findings or fire the author if the conclusion doesn't support their already decided on policy! I'm fitting a stove at the minute. If my door on the stove is well sealed how am I exposing myself to pollution? Surely it's all the other poor mugs on my street that are getting polluted?
